Feedback from HR Managers and L&D Teams

A selection of responses collected after recent programme deliveries. Dates are from the past month.

NR

Norlela Razak

HR Manager — Logistics, Johor Bahru

"We ran the single session as part of our Q2 wellbeing calendar. The facilitator was well-prepared — he knew that our staff are mostly on shift work and kept the session accessible rather than assuming everyone has the same pay structure. The HR summary was delivered three days later, which made it easy to include in our quarterly wellbeing report."

Tan Kah Meng

L&D Lead — Manufacturing, Seremban

"We went with the multi-session course for our factory floor supervisors. The scheduling flexibility was what made it work — we split sessions across two weeks to fit around production schedules. Content on EPF statements was particularly well-received. We'd have preferred slightly more time on the budgeting module, but overall it met our objectives."

Suriyah Pillai

People Operations — Shared Services, KL

"The full curriculum was a meaningful addition to our annual wellbeing programme. What I appreciated most was that there were no surprises — the scope was confirmed before we started, the printed workbooks were good quality and the three-month support period meant we had someone to call when we were planning the next cohort."

Ahmad Hafizuddin

HR Executive — Retail Group, Johor

"Our staff have a wide range in terms of financial confidence — some are fresh graduates, some have been with us for fifteen years. The session handled that mix well without making anyone feel singled out. The pay slip walkthrough was genuinely useful; I've heard from several team members that they actually read their slip properly for the first time after attending."

Wong Jia Lin

Senior HR — Technology Services, Penang

"We were cautious about running financial education for staff because of regulatory questions — we didn't want to accidentally cross into advice territory. Nilaya's briefing made it clear exactly where the boundaries were, and the session stayed firmly within general education throughout. That clarity was genuinely reassuring for us as an organisation."

FM

Faridah Mohamad

Head of People — Property Group, Johor Bahru

"The pricing was clear from the start, which made it straightforward to get internal approval. We ran two cohorts under the multi-session format and the second session was noticeably better because participants had applied what they'd learned in between. The digital tools gave them something concrete to take away. We'll be running it again next year."

Case Studies

A Closer Look at How Programmes Have Worked

Three examples — different sectors, different formats, different starting points.

Challenge

Logistics — Johor, 120 employees

HR noticed that a disproportionate number of staff salary advance requests were coming from employees mid-month. Payroll showed nothing unusual, but the pattern suggested employees were not managing effectively between pay cycles.

Solution

Two-session course delivered on-site

Nilaya ran two half-day sessions three weeks apart. Session one covered pay slip reading and monthly budgeting. Session two addressed planning for irregular expenses and using simple digital tracking tools. All content remained within general education parameters.

Result

Fewer mid-month advance requests

In the three months following the programme, HR reported a reduction in advance requests from the participating cohort. Feedback from participants indicated the budgeting session was the most practically useful element.

"A noticeable shift in how staff were approaching their own finances." — HR Manager

Challenge

Property Group — JB, 55 employees

A growing property business wanted to add a meaningful wellbeing element to their annual staff programme but had limited budget and HR bandwidth. They needed something that could be delivered quickly without extensive internal preparation.

Solution

Single session — online delivery

A three-hour online session was arranged within two weeks of initial enquiry. The facilitator briefing took 30 minutes over a video call. Participant handouts were distributed digitally. The HR summary was ready within four business days of the session.

Result

Delivered within two weeks, on budget

The programme was delivered to 48 attendees across two time zones (Malaysia and a Singapore satellite team). Post-session feedback rated the pay slip literacy content highest for usefulness.

"Straightforward to organise and the HR summary saved us a lot of time." — People Operations Lead

Programme: Workplace Money Literacy Session  |  Timeline: 2 weeks  |  Format: Online

Challenge

Shared Services — KL, 220+ employees

An established shared-services operation had identified financial stress as a recurring theme in employee wellbeing surveys for three consecutive years. Leadership wanted a structured, scalable response that could reach all staff over a six-month period.

Solution

Full curriculum — four cohorts over five months

The Complete Corporate Wellbeing Curriculum was delivered in four cohorts of approximately 55 employees each. Live sessions were supplemented by self-paced modules accessible via the digital library. Printed workbooks were distributed at the opening session of each cohort.

Result

Measurable shift in wellbeing survey responses

The following annual wellbeing survey showed a reduction in the proportion of staff rating financial pressure as a top stressor. The HR team cited the programme in their annual report to leadership. A second cohort cycle was commissioned for the following year.

"The workbooks meant staff had something to refer back to. The digital library was used more than we expected." — Head of People
